This festival season was an especially exciting one for Gandey World Class Productions, as our director Carol Gandey travelled to Australia to see our spectacular cabaret sensation The Ladyboys of Bangkok shine at two of the world’s most celebrated arts festivals – Perth Fringe World and Adelaide Fringe.

A Triumphant Return to Adelaide
The Ladyboys of Bangkok opened in Adelaide at the iconic Garden of Unearthly Delights, one of the Fringe’s most vibrant and atmospheric hubs. With its buzzing pathways, glowing tents and electric crowds, it provided the perfect home for our dazzling production.

Opening night was nothing short of phenomenal. Thanks to overwhelming demand following last year’s success, we were thrilled to experience a completely full house. The energy inside the venue was incredible — an audience ready to celebrate glamour, comedy, choreography and pure entertainment. It was a proud moment for Carol to witness firsthand just how strongly the show resonates with Australian audiences.

Sharing the Spotlight with World-Class Talent
The Garden of Unearthly Delights was bursting with talent throughout the festival season. Alongside The Ladyboys of Bangkok were standout productions including Fountain Lakes: Y2K, the sensational Club Kabarett starring Bernie Dieter, comedy favourite Merrick Watts, and the fabulous pairing of Tim Collins & Hannah Conda.
Elsewhere in Adelaide, audiences were flocking to see Elixir at Fool’s Paradise, alongside many more outstanding artists who make the Fringe such a global cultural highlight.

Carol also spoke highly of a fantastic production titled London Calling, which featured a circus artist from the world-famous Great Yarmouth Hippodrome Circus — a lovely connection to home and a reminder of the international reach of live performance.
A Feast for the Senses
Adding even more flavour to the Adelaide experience was a vibrant Asian food festival running alongside the Fringe celebrations. The incredible aromas, street food stalls and buzzing atmosphere created a true festival of the senses — perfectly complementing the high-energy sparkle of The Ladyboys of Bangkok.

Celebrating International Success
For Carol, the visit was about more than just seeing the show — it was about celebrating the strength of Gandey World Class Productions on an international stage. Seeing packed audiences in Perth and Adelaide reinforces the global appeal of The Ladyboys of Bangkok and the continued appetite for high-quality cabaret entertainment.
As the lights dimmed on another spectacular opening night in Adelaide, one thing was clear: The Ladyboys of Bangkok continue to dazzle, delight and draw the crowds — wherever in the world they perform.
Here’s to an unforgettable Australian Fringe season… and many more to come.
